Tommy’s Real Estate has appointed Hutt Valley real estate identities Linda and Dave Gaskin to run its Alicetown-based office.
“It’s exciting to be involved with a multi-award-winning brand that oozes enthusiasm, has a great culture and huge success all within the Wellington region,” Linda says.
She has been selling homes in the Hutt Valley for about 20 years while Dave, who has a strong background in sales, joined her about seven years ago.
“Being a husband-and-wife team means communication is easier as we live together and real estate is a hot topic in our family,” Linda says.
“The male/female combination works well as we each have different skills sets and bounce off each other well.
“We are both born and bred in the valley and have lived in both Lower and Upper Hutt in a variety of suburbs, so we have great local knowledge and connections.
“We spent our early years renovating property throughout the valley and made many useful connections through that.”Linda and Dave have three adult children, who also live in the Hutt Valley, and when not spending time with their young grandchildren in local cafes and parks, love walking their dog daily along the beach.
“We have raised three puppies to become Blind Low Vision NZ guide dogs, which has been a challenge but a lot of fun and very rewarding,” Dave says.
“We are very excited to now be adding Tommys’ charities to our list in particular, Wellington Free, and our door is open to discussion for ongoing local community projects.”
“We pride ourselves on no sugar coating,” Linda says. “We let our sellers and buyers know how it is and believe full and honest communication is the key to our success and ongoing relationships.”
They believe the Hutt housing market is starting to settle, with more prospective buyers attending open homes.
“We are not the biggest or the oldest agency in the Hutt Valley but we have the attitude and aptitude to continue on our current growth path,” Dave says.
“We are currently enjoying the addition of property management and filling a niche for a smaller more boutique-type agency.”
Managing Director of Tommy’s Property Management; Harrison Vaughan says that partnering with Linda and Dave Gaskin is invaluable for the local area. “We are able to provide our great service that Wellingtonians have become accustomed to, to a wider market”
Hutt Valley Area Rental Manager, KP, is proud to have a new hub for their local property management team to work at.
“Hutt Valley is very popular with people from all backgrounds and we cannot wait to extend the Tommy’s service to this region.” Says KP.
“We wanted to realign our presence in the Hutt with a closer alliance to our brand and believe that the agents we have agreed to represent us in the Hutt are enthusiastic, innovative and really understand the Hutt Valley market,” Tommy’s Sales Director Nicki Cruickshank says
“We are a Wellington region-focused brand as opposed to a national or Australian branded company.
“And we believe the success we have had in getting our city office to the best-office-in-New Zealand status in the last year can flow through to the Hutt Valley with the boutique agency we have with the support of the city office and city buyers behind us.”
As well as the city and Hutt offices, which last year won the REINZ Large Residential Office of the Year – Volume and the REINZ Large Residential Office of the Year categories, Tommy’s has branches in Mana, Kapiti and the Wairarapa.
“All the regions of Wellington have a unique identity and we want to create an environment where we meet those needs,” Nicki says.
“That’s why it’s really important to have experts who have lived and breathed in their areas, and I believe Linda and Dave Gaskin are iconic Hutt Valley people, down to earth, realistic and hard working – just what we love to see in any Tommy’s agents!”
