Johnsonville is a large suburb in northern Wellington, seven kilometres north of the city centre. It is situated at the top of the Ngauranga Gorge, on the main route to Porirua.
Jville is pretty convenient with good public transport to the city, no more than a 10min drive to town. I like it because Johnsonville has everything, supermarkets, Asian groceries, police station, parks, library, mall, vet, medical centre, dentist, optometrist, bakeries, fish n chips and all the takeaway joints… Pretty much everything you need.
Johnsonville is a decently-sized residential and commercial suburb, with everything you could need nearby.
Johnsonville is always a hub of activity. Slotted into the valley at the top of the Ngauranga Gorge, cars stream along the main street, and around the triangle that forms the suburb’s heart.
The largest of the northern suburbs, it is the stomping ground for people from the surrounding areas, providing the closest shopping area outside Wellington. Hataitai is on important transport links between the central city and Wellington International Airport, to the south of Evans Bay on the isthmus at Rongotai. It is at the eastern end of the Mount Victoria Tunnel and the bus-only Hataitai Tunnel, built in 1907 for trams, making Hataitai a popular place to live.
We work hard to make sure our children achieve in reading, writing and maths, we also think it important to provide a range of sporting and cultural opportunities that encourage and extend. Our school is also privileged to have a Special Education Unit onsite, with our special education children being an integral part of our school community. At our school we look towards the future. While we continue to make the best of traditional approaches to teaching and learning, we are also determined to embrace change and equip our children with skills that will last them a lifetime.
We aim to provide a high quality education for our students, within a caring and respectful environment. We strongly believe that every child can and will achieve. We are an integrated Catholic full primary school for students who live in the Northern Wellington suburbs.

St Vincent de Paul society is best known for its Op Shops. While that implies the opportunity to find great second hand clothes and furniture at great prices, we are first and foremost a Charity Shop because all our proceeds go towards funding our welfare programs which help the local Wellington needy. We have a great range of second hand clothes, pre-loved toys and used furniture with shops located all throughout your local areas. We help by recycling clothing and furniture that would otherwise be thrown away.
